Bliss Balls (2 Ways)

What a week! Between my kitchen countertops being replaced (they are beautiful) and work starting to get busier with the upcoming month, I cooked – but I really used my old recipes for ease. I did get a special surprise in the mail: a Graze snack box!

Graze is a health-forward company that creates individualized snack boxes for its subscribers. They create all snack recipes in-house and try to make them as healthy and yummy as possible. Honestly, a great idea. For only $14.99 billed weekly, biweekly, or monthly (depending on preference) you can get an 8-snack variety box delivered right to your door. You can cancel at any time, you can try a box and cancel (for free), and you can gift snack boxes to friends or family.
This box worked so well for me because I love snacks. I am a grazer. I even have an emergency snack drawer in my cubicle, but let’s be honest – it’s not an emergency, I use it everyday. Getting my first snack box inspired me to create my own snacks, starting with this one: Bliss Balls

I have so much protein powder (shout out to Blake) I am just going to start cooking it into everything. So far so good (see Better-For-You Brownies). Also, this is a 2-for-1 since I have been absent from blog activity and recipe creativity

Cookie Dough Bliss Balls

Ingredients:
– 2 Scoops Protein Powder (I used Women’s Best Cookies & Cream)
– 1/4 c. Chocolate Chips
– 1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. Peanut Butter
– 1/4 c. Honey (or Maple Syrup)
– 2 tbsp. Steel Cut Oats
**Almond Milk (if necessary)

Directions
1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, add peanut butter and honey and microwave until creamy
2. In separate, large glass bowl, add protein powder, steel cut oats, and chocolate chips
3. Add peanut butter and honey mixture to the protein powder mixture and combine
4. Form into balls (add almond milk if too dry or unincorporated)
5. Enjoy
(Makes 12 tbsp. size balls)

Brownie Batter Bliss Balls

Ingredients for Brownie Batter Balls:
– 2 Scoops Protein Powder (I used Women’s Best Fudge Brownie)
– 2 tbsp. Cocoa Powder
– 2 tbsp. Honey
– 1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. Peanut Butter
– 2 tbsp. Steel Cut Oats
ADDED ZEST: 1 tbsp. Nutella (or hazelnut spread)

Directions
1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, add peanut butter and honey and microwave until creamy
2. In a separate, large glass bowl, add protein powder, cocoa powder, and steel cut oats
3. Add peanut butter and honey mixture to the protein powder mixture and combine. Add Nutella
4. Form into balls (add almond milk if too dry or unincorporated)
5. Enjoy
(Makes 12 tbsp. size balls)

I was already snacking on these bliss balls while I was making them. They are so yummy and so filling. While they do make a bit of a mess to make, they are so worth it.

May begins this upcoming week and with it begins Mental Health Awareness Month. I have a few special recipes in mind and a month-long theme you will not want to miss.
