Hello! I know I promised this last week but sometimes the weeks just get away from me!
So far, Clark’s has been my favorite grocery stop. It is a fitness girl’s dream come true. They even had an aisle dedicated to protein ice cream and a fresh juice station. I KNOW AN ACTUAL DREAM.
For $43.23 I got:
- 2 Salads (Caesar & Harvest)
- 1 Snack-Size Pack of Quinoa Salad
- 1 Snack-Size Pack of Wild Rice Salad
- 3 OWYN Protein Drinks (Only What You Need, genius)
- 2 Mush Overnights
- 1 Little Flower for my Mama
I had either Mush or the OWYN drinks.
Mush Overnight Oats were AMAZING (I got more this week). Click the link and check them out. They are dairy-free, very flavorful, and satisfyingly filling. They are a little pricey online, but typically range from $3.99 up. I got mine on special for 2/$5 and that was definitely worth it. 10/10 recommend these for your oat cravings.
The OWYN drinks were filling and were pretty healthy with a high protein level (20g per drink). I enjoyed the chocolate and vanilla flavor, but the cold brew was not my favorite. They were thick and creamy and tasted almost like cake. Recommend, but not as highly as the overnight oats.
I had to run extra errand for my mom so I ended up at Sprouts. From there, I purchased vegetables and chicken (which were more expensive at Clark’s). So I only halfway cheated by using another grocery store, but that was only because I had errands to run at Sprouts.
I prepped the meals and they looked like below:
Chicken with kale/asparagus and either the wild rice or quinoa salad.
It was relatively yummy, but by the end of the week if I had to eat another vegetable I would rather starve. So, I needed to keep that in my mind when getting food for this week. Eating healthy is extremely exhausting for someone who literally cannot manage to eat the same thing for more than 2 days in a row.
After 2 weeks of meal prepping the same thing to eat more than 2 days in a row, I took a different route and tried something completely different.
Clark’s Final Review: 11/10
I loved seeing how everything I wanted to try was conveniently in one place. I loved finding those overnight oats – highlight of my week (and this week), and I loved finding out more about what I do and do not like – vegetables mostly.
I already have the next blog post in drafts, so I can (almost) promise to post again on Friday. This one is similar to my companion cooking weeks; however, with a little shape-up.
