So I Started a Business

Let me take you back to December 2019.

I had just moved to Australia. Here, I was meant to live my best life and work my dream job in a big office in the city and be financially stable and happy. 96 job applications, 12 recruiters, 12 interviews, 3 rejections, 2 job offers, and 5 temp jobs later…none of that really happened.

Before you assume it’s me, it’s not. It’s my visa. I have pretty strict work restrictions and COVID did not help my situation, BUT instead of crying and giving up (I cried a bunch but did not give up). I decided to take my life back after not having consistent work for about 10 months. If you know me, I have talked about it in the past, but I really like working and staying busy so not having consistent work and being pressed about paying my bills has been extremely draining and stressful (as it would be for anyone!).

My amazing client (I had one before starting) recommended Sara Wiles’ (The START) program to me and at first as I was skeptical because I never wanted to take the entrepreneurial path but like why? It’s a perfect fit.

Let me introduce you to: Simply Claire Virtual Services.

6 weeks later (the time it took me to finish Sara’s course) and here we are. I have signed 3 new clients, they’re all AMAZING. I am able to work from home full-time, pay all my bills without worry, I got the cutest work companion (Alfie 😍) and it’s safe to say I am doing exactly what I want to do…and I haven’t even officially launched until today! Sara Wiles’ program provided me with the best leads, great business knowledge, and the best foundational know-how to get my business started.

I will talk about this in the future, but being in your ‘zone of genius’ really changes your trajectory and opens doors and introduces you to new opportunities you never ever thought possible. Once I decided to do this and go all-in, doors just started opening for me. AND I’m not saying it’s easy (because it’s totally not and I get nervous everyday that I’m going to mess something up or lose everything right when I’m happy), but taking those risks are so so worth it

Accomplishing and reaching your goals does not happen overnight sometimes it takes months or longer. You just have to try everything, be diligent, and have the discipline to keep trying even when you’ve been knocked down multiple times, because that’s honestly what success feels like: standing up taller knowing you’ve overcome some massive challenges

It took me 11 months to get my feet on the ground, and I haven’t even reached max capacity!

If you want to know more about what I do and why I do it, you can find my business website here:

There, you’ll also find my booking link if you want to book a free 30-minute discovery call get to know each other better. I am still accepting new clients and looking to grow, and the best way to do this is to help YOU grow. Sometimes I am a social media planner, sometimes I am a project management, sometimes I am just your personal cheerleader in your corner. I am a ‘generalist VA’ so I do a bit of everything and I’d love to know more about you

Thanks so much for reading through this week’s Working Wellness Wednesday post! Bit of a change of context, but still about working and wellness so it qualifies.

So excited for October and Q4 (let’s make this the best quarter yet!) and I will have one more big announcement later this week (but you’ll have to catch that on the gram.)
